Guest Designer at Gecko Galz

Sometime last year I was asked if I would be a Guest Designer at Gecko Galz and November has come round so fast.

I have made four projects and would like to share the non-Christmas ones with you today.
P1140920
Firstly a collage card with an embossed background using the Tim Holtz Cargo mask on coredinations card stock with the letters sanded down.
P1140922
The image is from Gecko Galz brand new collage sheet ‘Retro Fashions 1’. I layered scraps of paper, washi tape, lace and ephemera to create the collaged corner …….
P1140924
…… and adhered various metal embellishments to add dimension.
P1140923
The sentiment is from the Tim Holtz Simple Sayings set of stamps.

My second piece is a tag card
P1140910
The image came from the same Retro Fashions sheet as above and the butterfly is from a bottle cap set they do.
P1140912
I love the chic feel to this image with the cracked background contrasting with the elegant lady drawn in black and white
P1140913
Some tissue tape, washi tape and a black border balance the composition at the bottom.
P1140914
Some rub-ons and a black bow at the top …..
P1140916
….. and a doiley with inked edges placed behind the focal point to give it more of a feminine feel.
I’m really happy with this one.

We have had some stunning sunsets this week, these photos were taken on Monday night, there was something similar tonight.
P1150027
From my workroom window.
P1150033
Know what you want to do, hold the thought firmly, and do every day what should be done, and every sunset will see you that much nearer to your goal.

Enjoy the rest of the week my friends and thanks for stopping by.

Beautiful cards, Brenda, with something a little bit different. I'm heeding that last little bit of advice...getting back to cleaning up after some renovation. Why is it, what seems like a small job isn't, and why do they make so much mess!

Stunning makes both of them Brenda!! Love how you layered the bits and pieces over and around those gorgeous ladies. The backgrounds on both of them look stunning too and I adore the idea on the second one of attaching the two tags together to make them into a card!! I will have to case that idea for some more Christmas cards, hope you don't mind, if I blog them I'll give you credit! Can't wait to see your other ones now!!

Your collage card is gorgeous Brenda - the colors really are so rich just like the pretty image. Your embellishments are perfect. Gecko Galz is lucky to have you!!!!
Your tag card is so sophisticated - that is the most elegant drawing. Reminds me of woman's fashions from my youth. I have never seen a tag card before and I really like it!
