Pressed Botanicals Collage - Pressed grasses and pressed umbels stamps by Alison Bomber

 Vintage Dreaming Collage

A vintage collage created directly in my Collage Panels journal, especially for using with Tim Holtz Found Relatives and Photobooth Pictures.

The Umbels silhouette stamp was inked up and directly added to the central panel .....

.... whilst the silhouette grasses were stamped onto spare card and fussy cut.
Some of Alison's words were added to bring a story to the overall project ....

.... this particular young lady is looking thoughtful and reflective with eyes looking upwards to the foliage and wondering about a walk in the forest where she can lose herself in her dreams and find some peace and quiet.

That is me sometimes, looking forward to a walk on our Ranges where the paths roam past the canal, out into fresh, bright openings and then back into some dense wooded areas which climb high and provide some beautiful views through the trees.

Seaside Project 2 - Tim Holtz Seahorse frame for Country View Crafts

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside.

'Anything Seaside' is still a challenge title for June at Country View Challenges on FaceBook.

My choice has been to decorate and make a frame that sits nicely with the idea of being beside the sea on a lovely summer's day.

I love to use up scraps and inky backgrounds and some shapes have been reworked with leftovers taken from my bits folders. I have also used a number of older dies and stamp sets.

Seahorse cut from TH Sand and Sea Bigz die. Not readily available any more. Stencilled with the new mini leaf stencil using distress crackle paste sprinkled with Tattered Rose distress glaze. Later I sanded the texture and rubbed over vintage photo and unchartered mariner distress inks.

Starfish stamped and cut using Nautical Blueprint CMS194 and Rusty Hinge, Ripe Persimmon and Scattered Straw Distress Watercolour Pencils. Dried and overstamped with Vermillion archival and Scorched Timber distress ink. Over that I applied distress crackle paste and when the crackles had appeared and it was dry I rubbed in walnut stain distress ink.

The frame and background in the aperture were created just by dipping into DWP puddles and drying. Distress crackle paste was applied round the edges and had unchartered mariner rubbed into them when dry. Splattered with white ink.

The sentiment is my own, produced on the computer.

Wish and Dream Panels with Tim Holtz Spritzes

I picked up 2 small panels that have been hanging around on a shelf for ages, they both had a thin layer of gesso or texture paste scraped over them and were begging to be picked up and used.. I dipped them in some left over walnut stain distress ink I had been using and put them near the window to dry whilst I carried on with another project.

I heard the postman deliver some post through the letterbox and was excited to find the new Tim Holtz Spritzes I had ordered had been delivered and I did no more than unpack and shake them and gave each one a spray on some very small pieces of card and put them aside to dry. There were some little splatters of the sprays from each bottle left on my craft mat and I dipped my two little panels in them so as not to waste any. They remained on the shelf until the next morning and I just gathered some bits from my collage packets and hey presto these appeared.

I added some more splatters of the Spritz and some slatters of white paint to finish them off.

Seaside theme - Country View Crafts and Tim Holt products 2024

For a new challenge at County View Crafts Challenges 'All Things Seaside' on FaceBook I've used a clipboard as the substrate for my project and created a fairly flat collage so that the clipboard can be used.

The board was painted with Haystack and stamped with Buff PaperArtsy chalky acrylics. I used one of Tim's ledger stamps.

Then over this I created a collage.
