MIxology news and CVC workshop news.

Well if you saw my Face Book post last Wednesday you will already know my exciting news. The amazing Andy Skinner has asked me to be one of the teachers at Mixology in Coventry on the 19tyh and 20th November this year and I am still pinching myself as it's a dream come true. I will be sharing the day with the fabulous Mark Gould so that he and I will both do two half days each. Now I'm here to tell you that the booking is open for this retreat but I believe that sales are going really fast and if you wanted to come along you need to get in quick to see if there are any spaces left. (Click the Mixology link above).

I just got to get my head round a project and there are lots of ideas floating about, so that's good seeing as my mojo has been missing for a few weeks and half a day brings the potential down for me to overdo things too.

At the moment I am working on my Country View Crafts workshop project for July and on Saturday created this grungy, shabby crackle using DecoArt weathered wood medium with their chalk paints and media acrylics.

This is going to be a beach hut project so you can see it's pink, shabby with touches of vibrant colour but still weathered and vintagy. I'll let you see more when I've finished it.

Thanks for stopping by and for all the lovely comments you leave me.

Have a great week.

hugs Brenda xxx

What a shame it's so far away from Aberdeen....not sure I'd be let off the leash long enough to come!

Yay, yay, yay! What fabulous news! Am so thrilled for you and for all the lucky people who'll get to take your workshop. Sadly my best friend is getting married on 19th November so I'm going to miss out again. Glorious weathered crackle in your sample - looks absolutely like the real thing - the chalk crackle may well be my favourite of all the DecoArt options.

Such exciting news for you! Brenda You must be stoked !! Enjoy every minute , even any apprehension and doubts - they're all part of the course, healthy too- it wouldn't be normal to not have them .
I would love to be there but not sure whether I will be able to get a place given the popular demand and the few things I need to consider first.

Your shabby chic crackle to a rreal 'jaw dropper' - Incredible and I'm looking forward to see the finished project . I could use a beach right now lol .
hugs x

I am sneakily hoping it will include this utterly fabulous wood technique - it is jaw-dropingly stunning Brenda and to see it on a beach hut creation is just the icing on the cake for me.... I was so thrilled to hear this Brenda, it is so well deserved. You will be a huge asset to the DecoArt team...your gorgeous work will help bring their products to an even wider audience. The weekend sound brilliant....I would love to come but I just can't commit that far ahead in Nov as it's right around family birtdays etc. Fingers crossed there may still be spaces left in the coming months once I find out what plans are this end! Enjoy this lovely sunshine, the rain last night gave the garden a welcome water. Hugs xx

Once again, huge congratulations Brenda but not in the least bit surprising, you are supremely talented and will be an amazing addition to the Ministry of Mixology workshops! Your gorgeous weathered beach hut technique is a prime example of why Andy chose you, how I wish I could take a class with you. Have fun and many, many congratulations! Deb xo

Oh, my word, Brenda! this weathered wood looks breathtaking! I can't wait to see the end product, but this alone is pinned! Huge congratulations on your news! It is not a surprise Andy would include you as a teacher--oh how I wish I could wiggle my nose and fly across the great pond to take these classes! Perhaps there will be on-line courses in your future???? Big hugs to you on your great news!
