4 more altered playing cards

Hello Everyone, it's been a fabulous week here at the Brown household with Ken's birthday Thursday and our 40th wedding anniversary on the same day. Last night we celebrated with the children and grand children having a lovely meal out together and tonight we celebrate with a few friends and neighbours by having a summer garden BBQ. We just hope it doesn't rain after all the wonderful hot sunny weather we had in July.

Today I thought I would share four altered playing cards that I have been making (you can seer the previous 4 here that I made in March if you haven’t caught up with them yet)
Although I followed the ideas and techniques from Stephanie Ackerman, I am using images and collage pieces of my own.
P1160003
I save quotes and make my own sheets and print out to use in albums, on cards and mixed media projects.

P1160007

I won’t share the process steps in respect for Stephanie and her online class, but suffice to say I am enjoying making these and having fun exploring some mixed media techniques.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

hugs {brenda} xx

Brenda congratulations on your wedding anniversary, so very special for you and your DH and all your family.
A stunning collection of cards. I like the fact that they are all individual pieces of mini art yet somehow they are harmonious, lined up together.
My absolute favourite is the woman with a dream.

Your cards are really great! I've thought about taking Stephanie's workshop, and this really leads me closer to doing just that! Would you mind telling me whose rubber stamp the pen nibs is? I don't recognize it. Thanks so much for sharing your art!

Four more fab playing cards... can't believe I signed up for Stephanie's class a year and a half ago and still haven't managed to fit any of it in - ah, well - I love how you're playing with the ideas and making them your own.

I'm sorry I'm a little late in wishing you a Happy Anniversary (40th .. oh that so wonderful!!). I was looking at the altered playing cards and thinking how they looked like you enjoyed the creative process here. The layering is fantastic with stamps, remnant rubs, tissue tape, paper, ink ... . Just a joy to look at them and uncover the layers and your ability to create something beautiful with these elements. Wonderful -- Mary Elizabeth

These are lovely, Brenda! That quote about adjusting our sails is profound. You make me want to go make some ATCs!
