Me and You

I think I must be starting to think of Valentine’s day with a title like this.

P1040265

My tag uses stormy sky and brushed corduroy distress inks with the spritz and flick technique to make the background. Over that I used Tim’s dot fade mask and blended through more of the same colours.

P1040261

Here is the collection of pieces I gathered together to make up the design I had in my head.

P1040264

The photos are from the Tim Holtz paper stash 8 x 8 Collage. The moth is from another of his set but can’t remember which one. Notice I didn't use the key in the end, although it looked ok in my head it didn't have the space it needed when I put it all together.

P1040273

I used scraps for the photo mounts and other little embellishments.

P1040274

The little pieces made up a small banner across the centre.

P1040272

Are you beginning to think of Valentine's projects? We no sooner finish one festival and we are off on another.

What do you think of all the goodies Tim has been showing on his blog that will be showcasing at CHA? Oh my gosh, I am so pleased I got some craft vouchers for Christmas so I can buy some when they arrive. I just love the new butterfly and bee sizzix dies, made specially for me!!!! (I wish!).

Be inspired and creative.

Love your tag, you have put it together really well. I'm not going to even look what new things Tim has, I can't buy anything, and don't want to make my mouth water for nothing! Hugs, Valerie

Fabulous collage Brenda and what an array of colours which all work so fabulously together. I love that you can put things out to use like that - I am not that organised and I seem to be hunting around in drawers and boxes the whole time I am creating. Perhaps I will try your method.

Just loving all the CHA sneaks - my wish list is getting longer and longer! Have a lovely weekend x

Another fun tag, and one can tell that you really enjoy making them! If the weather stays warm enough, it looks like we are going to get a couple of days of steady rain. See, now you can have our snow...fair is fair now.

Love your tag Brenda! The colours and background are gorgeous and all the different elements are perfectly balanced.

I'm not sure if I'm glad I haven't yet had time to check out ANY of the new releases from CHA, lol! At least I don't wish for what I haven't seen. I'm sure I will be having a look very shortly though and then the wish list will benlonger than my arm ;D.

Hugs

Brenda...your vintage style Valentine tag is stunning. I so love the distressed edges of everything and the very vintage look you've achieved with your tag. The colors are amazing. Love the scuffed up edges of the photos and the torn edges of the paper scraps you've matted them on. Love the black and white rick rack...how cute! Love the mottled blue-ish backgorund and the filmstrip running up the left side. Really a lovely piece. I also wanted to thank you so much for the sweet comments you always leave on my blog post. Leaving Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is bittersweet. But, I am so excited for what may be out there for me; just waiting round the bend. Here's to a creative and fun 2014! <3 Candy
