The Stamp man - Time or Travel

The Stamp Man challenge this week is for you to show us any time or travel themed projects. I have made a mixed media card using some items from the Stamp Man Vintage Style Embellishment kits.

The background was stamped using clear EP and WW DI blended over. I made a faux leather effect tag using tissue paper and an embossing folder and it looks and feels quite realistic. I sewed around the edge and added a piece from an Egyptian bracelet to finish it off.

The stamped images are some that Jill sent me and a frame from the Vintage Style Embellishment Kit.

Supplies used -

Distress inks - Tea Dye, Frayed Burlap, Brushed Corduroy, Wild Honey, Stormy Sky, Victorian Velvet, Weathered Wood.

Distress Markers - Faded Jeans, Victorian Velvet, Tattered Rose, Stormy Sky

This is a close-up of the little label, made by stamping onto painted shrink plastic.

Vintage ladies and Tuesday Treasures

I was hoping to get a Smash Book done for today as I had seen my blogging friend Silvia make one but hopefully next time round.
So for today .....

Here is a set of four cards, all in the same design, just different images. I have made them to be part of different sets which will become presents for our hosts and family when we go to America in the summer.

 I will show you the others as they get made.

The music score is TH tissue wrap, images I found in a pack which came from a craft fair eons ago. 

I stamped the French text on the backing piece. 

All pieces were lightly edged with walnut stain.

The sentiment and insert I made myself using frames from Digital Crea. Flowers and ribbon, a heart and pearl to finish it all off.

PanPastels - Father's Day

OK how different is this for me? I longingly look at the LiM cards people make and wish I could do that and yes this is fairly LiM but it took me ages, and I mean AGES to make.

The panel is made with PanPastels blended for the background, a stamp by Oxford Impressions, some music paper, sentiment and baker's twine.

This is perfect for my husband for Father's Day, I hope he likes it.

I am looking forward to seeing the entries at PanPastel UK this week and there is a generous prize of a PP set from Your Creativity Store.

Tuesday Treasures

Tuesday and a Bank Holiday here in the UK which feels like a Sunday  and because of that I almost forgot Tuesday Treasures, but my treasure fits the theme of the weekend with the Diamond Jubilee celebrations at an end now.

These were the celebrations last night at the Diamond Jubilee Concert. The queen obviously enjoyed herself.

We had a small gathering a my neighbour's house on Saturday night and I managed to finish the bunting I was making just in time.

There are 65 finished triangles and they have been sewn back-to-back so 130 of them cut altogether. I wouldn't have got it done without Becca who cut them and started sewing them together last weekend.

Now completed this measures at least 18 metres long and went all round the conservatory and through into the dining room.

The next time it will be used is for our summer Diamond Celebrations garden party in July as Ken and I both celebrate diamond birthdays this year.

I do have to warn you that I have internet problems at the moment. There is a network fault with Virgin and they tell me it could be a whole week before it is resolved. In that time I will only have intermittent service, but I will get over as soon as I can.

PanPastels Vintage

Hello Everyone, this is my second post for today, please scroll down one to find my DT piece for FSC.

As you can see Vintage is the theme this week at the PanPastels UK Challenge blog and I have created a card using a fabulous Crafty Individuals stamp CI-056, coloured with PanPastels - turquoise shade, phthalo green, magenta, raw umber and titanium white. I sealed it with spray and shine.

I ran a piece of card through the Damask embossing folder and again swiped magenta and white PP over it and layered everything with some vintage elements and flowers.

We would love to see your vintage art this week and you do not need to use PanPastels at all, but if you enter you stand a chance of winning a fabulous set of PanPastels from Your Creativity Store.

I hope the weather cheers up a bit, we are supposed to be going to a Jubilee picnic where my son lives, but I think it will be very dependent on the weather today.

FSC - Birthday Fortune

There is a new challenge at Fashionable Stamping Challenges today with a theme of Magical and Mystical. So what are you making over the next fortnight that could link in?

My tag is around the clairvoyant, extrasensory and fortune telling aspects of the magical and mystical theme with a focus on 'Birthday Fortunes'.

My stamps are Paper Relics and Invoke with a distress ink 'spritz and dip' background. A little extra patterned and dictionary paper to create the collage effects and I didn't think it needed any other embellishments.

Stamp Man ATC Swap

It's the 1st June, Jubilee month and the theme at the Stamp Man ATC swap is Diamonds for the Queen.

My ATC was made with a spritz and dip background using Dusty Concord and Worn Lipstick distress inks. I stamped a Stampendous crown and painted it in with the dusty concord DI and some silver acrylic paint. I added some silver and glittery gems and Beadazzles.

I hope you have a wonderful Jubilee weekend if you are in the UK. We are having a 'street party' style get together tomorrow night in a neighbour's garden and having 'high tea' just to be different! We also have a Jubilee picnic where my son lives on Sunday (if the weather holds).

Ken and I are having our diamond birthday party in July.

Congratulations to our dear Queen Elizabeth for her 60 years reign and many more to come.

The Stamp Man - Father's Day / For a man

My card today shows the Frantage Encrusted Jewel technique (EJT) which I used for the sea on this nautical card for a Dad.

Stamps used are Aspects of Design Nautical and Distressed Corners and Borders - both from The Stamp Man on-line shop. The corner stamp is Tim Holt's Urban Tapestry.

I stamped the main image with embossing ink and used blue and lava black EPs and then added some silver EP by using an embossing pen. I stamped a swirly border underneath and added some silver glitter EP and then did the EJT using Stampendous aged silver and shabby white embossing enamels as well as some pure white, clear and some shimmery flakes my sister gave me. Whilst this was hot and sticky I added an anchor charm and it stuck right in, no glue needed.

Tuesday Treasures

Hi to all and welcome to Tuesday Treasures. This is my little piece of blogland to show you what I treasure most this week and hope that you will join me in showing and sharing yours too.

This week I have a gorgeous shadow box to share. This is not one of my own, but a wonderful present given to me by Lucy at True Colours. Lucy has had a very difficult year and is in a new home awaiting her own one to be completed and remodelled following the most terrible flood earlier in the year. This saga has had an effect on Lucy's motivation and mojo for crafting, but she is certainly back on the road to creating the most wonderful pieces. Lucy this is just delightful, so please carry on experimenting and making brilliant pieces to share with us all.

You can see from the photos the wonderful techniques and materials she has used and the fabulous effects she achieves and this is even more beautiful and even better looking IRL.
