FSC - Embossing

My second post today and slightly later than normal for Fashionable Stamping Challenges.

Another fortnight gone and another challenge where the theme is to use embossing - dry or heat - and on my sample this week there is lots of heat embossing, the background, the clock and the butterflies.

This is an 8 x 8 scrapbook page and has slightly curled - hence the odd shape to it.

I made the background by making a stamp Tim Holtz style (see his new book P66 to see how to do it) and using this and the TH Mona Lisa and Paris stamps with embossing ink and applying clear embossing powder over the images on black card. When dry I painted over the whole piece with white, burnt umber, honeydew and london fog acrylic paints and before this was perfectly dry I wiped over the embossed designs to remove most of it. This exposed the black embossed images through the paint layer to create a shabby vintage look.

The clock and photo mount are TH dies, the clock was heat embossed with weathered wood distress embossing powder and the mount was given a burnt umber coat of paint and then the crackle effect made with paperartsy crackle glaze and white and honeydew paints over the top.

The butterflies are white downloaded vintage images given a spritz with water and distress stains, heat dried and then embossed with clear embossing powder.

I love using watercolour paper to make flowers and I used a mix of tattered floral die-cuts and hand drawn cut outs to make these. A mix of vintage photo, and walnut stain DIs and weathered wood and walnut stain DSs have given these a vintage effect.

The photo is circa 1969 and someone I know really well lol.
Finished off with some collage elements, what do you think?

I am entering this into the Creative Craft World challenge this month to make something smaller than 12 x 12 and to include black.

Enjoy your Sunday.

PanPastels - Add a Flower

Another Shabby Chic card from me today with a sweet vintage image bought in a set at a craft fair a few years ago now.

This is for the new PanPastel UK challenge this week and I hope you will join us showing us your flowers.

The paper is Papermania and I cut the frame using a Sizzix die out of white card and coloured it up with PPs and edged the main linen card with the same pink PP as well.

The flower is Prima and I used Meiflower ribbon and the lace is from my supplies. I also stamped with Fresco Finish white paint on a green metal corner, placed a white shabby charm under the lace and added Stickles to the flower and round the edge of the backing paper.

We are sponsored as always by Your Creativity Store who give the winner an amazing PanPastel set. So I hope you are tempted to join in and if you love your PPs or have yet to experiment with go take a look at what they offer.

My teamies have produced some fabulous creations as always for your inspiration.

Have a wonderful Sunday.
