Smile with one layer no:4

Hi Everyone - just a short post from me today. This is another one of my Art of Craft workshop one layer cards, made for a 5” x 5” card.
P1050810
This is a very simple recipe for making the card.
  • Lay low tack masking tape across the middle.
  • Blend two or three distress inks over the card. Remove masking tape.
  • Stamp sentiment, flower and butterfly.
P1050811
  • Water bleach flower petals. Wrinkle free distress and splatter paint.
  • Ink edges with walnut stain.
P1050812
Done.

Before I go I thought I would share some photos of Wisley Gardens taken last week, These textures and colours are amazing.

Thanks for stopping by.

Stay creative.

  1. Wonderful techniques, Brenda, and a lovely card. Our gardens are done now. I've pulled the annuals and cut back everything else. Just waiting for snow now, though it's raining today.

  3. Wonderful card Brenda, love the background but don't understand the tape, thought it would leave a white and untouched area if you did the background over the top? Must be reading it wrong...

Loving the bleached out flowers very much.

Looks like you had a fun day out at Wisley Gardens, the plant stems and heads are marvellous :-) xxx

  4. Hello Brenda,
I love your card I have never had much success with the bleaching technique...I do believe it depends on the make of bleach you use.
Anyway you have got it down pat.
    Smiles:)

  23. Hi Brenda. It was lovely to hear from you and thanks so much for the comment you left on my blog! Your card you are featuring on your blog is so pretty! I love all of it...particularly how you've created that strip in the center just to stamp a sentiment. That really fills up that center space so nicely, doesn't it? Your butterfly at the top and those sweet daisies at the bottom make me long for spring already! <3 Candy
