Creative Chemistry 102 – Day 1

I’ve managed to get all my makes done for this fabulous on-line class by Tim Holtz, and I just love seeing how the distress paints have worked and playing with the techniques Tim is showing us.

P1140530
All of the techniques together. I love making and keeping the tags as reference points for the future.
P1140522
#1 – Distress Paint Marbling
P1140523
#2 – Coloured crackle (the background is another version of #4). Each leaf has a slightly different finish to it.
P1140524
#3 – Altered Surface (the background is another version of #1)
P1140526
#4 – Eroded Metallic - I was lucky enough to learn this from Tim himself on the retail day in Coventry.
P1140527
#5 – Stamping Resist
P1140528
#6 – Industrial and a bit of a happy accident here. I used a blending sponge that had black soot distress ink on it and when mixed with the DP it seemed to stick more to the metal tape and I got a darker metallic look.

There’s still time to do Creative Chemistry 101 and then join up for 102 if you haven’t already. Details can be found on Tim’s blog HERE and at Online Card Classes HERE. These really are so much fun and you have life long access to keep going back if you want to. I am so looking forward to having 30 tags ringed together at the end to have as a reminder of all the different techniques we will have learnt.

  1. These are brilliant Brenda, the leaves and the metallic finish especially. I will have a look at the first course. I was a bit confused and thought it was a "live"class but I think I understand that it is not so. I would love to learn more Tim Techniques, even the little bit I do I have such fun with and I love the results. Time to get out the woolies, a cold blast is on it's way!! Hugs x

  3. Hi Brenda, I joined both classes as I never did the one last year, so I'm at the beginning of 101. Your tags are absolutely stunning and what a great reference for the future. It's all quite time consuming for me at the moment, but I'll catch up eventually. Hugs Rita xxxxx

  13. Your tags are gorgeous - I think you should be his assistant. These are the best tags I have seen from the first class. Does he teach that eroded metal technique in this course? That is one special tag but they all are.
