Cottontail Shadow Box Saturday 9th March 10 am – 4 pm
On this workshop you will make a 3D collage that will sit on a textured and crackled background to fit inside an 8 x 8 inch shadowbox.
Use some of the new Tim Holtz dies, his Entomology stamps and dies and some of his ephemera to create a vintage timeworn collection of elements. Also use the fabulous DecoArt Media range of paints to choose your colour choices and some of the mediums to create those textures. Build up the layers including a ‘rusty’ frame and a gorgeous cottontail rabbit to complete the design. You can make this as grungy or as contemporary as you like.
Heart and Soul Saturday 1st June
This workshop is so named because of the theme of hearts that creates the focus for this shabby chic project.
I will guide you through the process steps for putting this design together which includes a white crackled edge, distressed and framed with DecoArt media fluid acrylics. There is a patchwork of shabby patchwork papers and a framed, textured heart layered over fabric and lace to enhance the shabby chic appeal. To add more interest there is a little shelf on which a small red heart catches your eye with a quote and paper doll couple. Other elements adorn the board to finish it off.
This piece can be made into a wall hanging to create a beautiful piece of home décor or could be stood on a shelf.
This is a project based workshop encompassing a variety of techniques - please note that the frame used in the workshop is different to the one used in the photo. Everyone begins from the same starting point and with the same supplies but you know you will go home with a work of art that is special and unique to you.
This workshop is suitable for those new to or who already have some experience of DecoArt products and mixed media work, however we do presuppose that you have some knowledge and experience with crafting and are looking to extend yours skills and expertise.
I am a trained teacher and will demonstrate, advise and support you throughout the whole process and hope you will ask questions if you don’t understand something or need additional advice or support.
We look forward to meeting you at Country View Crafts Headquarters if you can make the day.
