Good morning to you all
Having decided I wanted to enter Linda's Compendium of Curiosities challenge again, I looked at some other challenge sites to have some ideas in mind. But this has been a really difficult card to put together and has taken days of thinking time. But hey ho it's finished now and I am quite pleased with the way it has turned out.
The tattered edge in the photo is a result of playing with the magic extractor in Photoshop Elements.

To see what the challenge is about you need to visit Studio L3 and also look at P43 of the Compendium of Curiosities for the TH technique focused on. I used the faded jeans distressing powder on the butterfly but didn't ink over the design I added a second distress powder - peeled paint - and some ordinary glitter powder instead.
It has been covered in crackle accents and has curled giving it a very shabby look.
The green paper is one from the Mariposa matstack from DCWV which I just love, so much so, I don't want to use these gorgeous papers.
I stamped the sentiment and the bird and notes using walnut stain DI - which is one of my new purchases this week, and the thistle I heat embossed with gold embossing powder. When it was cool, I rubbed it with a rubbing pad to take the glare out of the gold. The hinge is from the Alterations hardware findings. It has been embossed with Alterations texture fades called gridlock and I rubbed pumice stone DI lightly over it. Papers have been edged with old paper crackle paint, peeled paint and faded jeans DI and crystal stickles. The flower I made myself using the 'heart' technique and added a glittered centre. The blue paper is a freebie from Far Far Away, it's very pretty, though you can't see much of it here.
I shall have another posting on Sunday which will be my second DT card for the OSAAT challenge. Hope you'll stop by again to have a look at it. There is a great theme which everyone can take part in very easily.
Have a good Friday and the weekend starts here - yey.
Take care. Luv B xxxx
